A user-friendly Windows application software for insulation coordination studies of high voltage substations, according to IEC 60071. With the aid of the software, developed in Visual Basic, the standard insulation level of the substation equipment can be selected by considering the voltage stresses from all origins and the available protection measures. The application software is a useful tool for electrical engineers working in the field of insulation coordination for power systems and can also be used for educational purposes in high voltage engineering courses.
