SCOPE

The High Voltage Laboratory of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki was founded in 1984 by Prof. CA Stassinopoulos and officially established by a presidential degree in 2001. It serves within the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering as a university laboratory providing:

  • high voltage engineering education,
  • high voltage engineering research,
  • an independent evaluation/test center for use by utilities, manufacturers and other organizations and agencies,
  • consultancy, training, short courses and seminars in high voltage engineering.

The 38th International Universities Power Engineering Conference UPEC 2003 was held 1-3 September 2003 at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and was organised by the High Voltage Laboratory. A Report on UPEC 2003 by TJ Hammons is available for downloading in pdf format.
